Head Gardener's Log, November 13th, 2025
|
As the year winds down, there’s still plenty of time to fill your needles or hooks — and your calendar — with color, texture, and inspiration. Whether you’re looking to master a new stitch, connect with fellow makers, or simply carve out some creative “me time,” our upcoming classes and gatherings are the perfect way to keep your yarn mojo strong through the seasons ahead. Grab your favorite project bag, a cozy beverage, and come stitch with us — there’s always room at the table for one more yarn lover.
December's Color Of The Month
December's color is inspired by the Winter Solstice. The longest night of the year, with promises of the light returning, "The Light Returns" is a reflection of Earth's promise, with dark shadows fading into golden yellow. Another symbol of the Winter Solstice, lit candles and holly, is represented in the stitch marker. Preorder now to guarantee delivery by December 1st!

What's On My Needles
My Afterglow shawl is still plugging away... I've reached the part where I need the progress keeper to show me that progress is actually being made! I'm using a vibrant shade of pink in Germantown, called Dark Magenta. The color makes me happy!

I'm enjoying Joji Locatelli's latest MKAL, called the One Love Mystery Shawl. We're just into week 3, and I've managed to keep up with the clues so far. I find myself reaching for my solid-colored scarves/shawls, so I decided on one of my newer shades of green from Gnome River Yarns, called Forest. The heavier weight yarn and larger needles also appealed to me, so I'm using our dk base, Clever Gnome.

And last but not least... a secret design for the upcoming Creature Comforts box. And maybe I'll cast on a new project for a featured yarn for the yarn tasting? You just never know!
