We're so excited to offer our first-ever advent calendar experience! Read on for more details...
Go on an adventure with Gnome River Yarns during the month of December! Each day, you'll open a package (clearly marked with the day) from your box and experience the thrill of a little gift, just for you. The 12 mini skeins you'll collect throughout your adventure will fade beautifully from one skein to the next, evoking the jewel tones and moody colors of an enchanted forest.
What You Can Expect:
12 Gnomelets (fingering weight; 75% sw merino, 25% nylon; 92 yards per 20 gram hank), dyed in a fade style.
12 other treasures, including non-craft specific notions from Gnome River Crafts, a delightful tea, self-care items, and other handmade goodies from the Gnome River family.
1 larger treasure from a fellow small business friend, to open on the 25th.
1 postcard with pattern ideas to use with your mini skeins (patterns can be found on Ravelry).
Pretty, thoughtful packaging to add to your experience.

What's On My Needles and HookI stumbled upon a social media post featuring the Evina cardigan, being stitched out of Cotton + Merino from Juniper Moon Farm and I actually gasped out loud. After finding the pattern, I marched right over to the shelf and picked out a nice, neutral color that will go with everything (... well, neutral for ME. It's really a relative term for color, depending on the color preferences of the individual. Right?!) and promptly swatched. Then I got gauge the first time on BOTH the knit AND crochet bits. I decided it was meant to be made and have been working steadily on it. I love the fact that there are both knit and crochet elements to the design, so I've been crocheting squares and knitting sleeves. I have also been suffering from a case of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). A group of my friends all started a beautiful crocheted blanket called the Marguerite Blanket. I was going to resist the urge to start one, because I'm not a huge fan of making afghans. But then they all started sharing their pictures and there was a coloring page to help me plan out my colors and then I accidentally picked out a whole color scheme and started one, using Vintage Baby. It's been a humbling learning experience for me, which I appreciate (though I didn't at the time!). The motifs are made using the tapestry crochet method (think stranded colorwork knitting, but for crochet), which is something I've never done before. I love being inspired by my community of makers... I hope you do too!Your Head Gardener, Lindsay Potter
