Learn to Knit!

Sat, Mar 21, 2020 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm -or- Thu, May 7, 2020 from 10am to Noon
Description
: Never picked up a needle before?  Looking for a refresher knitting class?  In this class, you'll learn (or re-learn) to cast on and knit.  You get to choose your ultimate project... perhaps this project is just a learning piece, maybe you'll keep knitting and make a scarf/cowl, or you can choose to make two rectangles and turn them into fingerless mitts!

Brioche Basics

Sat, Mar 21, 2020 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm -or- Thu, Apr 16, 2020 from 10am to Noon
Description: Learn how to make the popular brioche stitch in this class.  We will practice making 2 color brioche fabric, and explore the common mistakes we make and how to fix them. You'll leave the class ready to tackle your first brioche project!

Cables and Charts, Untangled

Magic Loop!

Sat, Mar 7, 2020 from 1pm to 3pm -or- Thu, Apr 9, 2020 from 10am to Noon
Description: The Magic Loop technique can be used for any small circumference knitting.  Things like socks, mittens, hats, even sweater sleeves can be knit using this technique, rather than double points or knitting the object flat and seaming it. In this particular class, you'll be casting on and practicing the technique while making a baby hat (pattern included!).

Totally Tubular, Dude!

Thu, Mar 12, 2020 from 10am to Noon -or- Sat, May 2, 2020 from 1pm to 3pm
Description: This cast on and bind off technique is a great way to add that finished touch to any 1 x 1 ribbed edge.  Use it on a hat, sock, sweater edges... really, anywhere you want a professional, polished look.

 What's On My Needles

I just finished a hat for my Valentine... in fact, it was still damp from blocking this morning.  Fingers crossed that it's dry enough to wrap tonight!  I also have a chunky shawl on the needles using 3 colors of Sequoia from the Baah trunk show.  They were the last skeins of these three colors and I couldn't stand the thought of them leaving me.  So, I am having a blast choosing my own adventure shawl and just playing with stitches and colors.  I'm hopeful that I will wrap that up this weekend!

The next thing I will be casting on is a Chain Link hat, again using Sequoia.  I think this hat would make a great workshop project for later this month, so stay tuned for that announcement!

Happy stitching!
