Entrelac Energy MAL

Announcing our next MAL... Entrelac Energy!
Pick a pattern from our curated bundle (link below) and create a project that uses the entrelac technique. Entrelac makes a textured, basketweave-style fabric, and it can be made by knitting OR crocheting!
You'll be knitting or crocheting along with the support of a community of other makers, both in-person and virtually via Zoom. There are several style options in the bundle: shawls, scarves, cowls, hats, etc.

This will be a hybrid KAL, with weekly meetings on Thursday evenings from 5:00 – 7ish. We will be hosting both in-person and Zoom meetings, based on our participant input (we will create a schedule in our exclusive Facebook group once the MAL begins). Our first gathering will be in person on Thursday, September 11th, where we'll be making our project and yarn selections (this meeting is optional... you don't have to wait if you want to pick out your yarns ASAP or if you can't make it at that time). We will cast on and get started with our projects in person on September 25th! Please note that our in-person meetings will also include a Zoom component, for those that are not local. As always, I do not choose an end date, BUT I would bet we could finish this project as a gift for the holidays!
The cost for this KAL is FREE, but I do ask that you purchase your supplies for the project from Yarn Garden. By supporting YG with your yarn purchase, you’re helping ensure that we can stay open to continue offering these fabulous events. Once you've made your purchase, you'll be given access to our private Facebook group, where the MAL will take place.
Yarn Options
Very dependent on the pattern choice! As you'll see when browsing the bundle, Noro and entrelac go together like a dream. However, there are some beautiful choices from Berroco that are color-changing as well, like Wizard or Gianna. Perhaps you'd like to use solid colors and change yarns for every tier. Our first meeting will be a great opportunity to plan your project!
If you have any questions, please get in touch via email (yarngardenMI@gmail.com), shop phone (517-541-9323) or YG's Facebook Page!
| Skill Level: | Beginner |
| Skill Details: | Knitters should be comfortable with the knit and purl stitch, and familiar with decreasing and picking up stitches. Crocheted entrelac is done using the tunisian crochet technique, so crocheters should be familiar with this style of crochet. |
