Pressed Flowers KAL

Announcing our next KAL... Pressed Flowers with YG!
Choose your project from the Pressed Flowers family of patterns from designer Amy Christoffers! You have the option to pick an accessory like the shawl, hat, socks or cowl or jump in with a garment, like the pullover, cardigan or vest. What unites these patterns is the mosaic stitch pattern featuring a pretty posy motif! Don't know the mosaic knitting technique? No problem! Check out the "Master Mosaic Knitting" class, held on either Saturday, August 17th or Thursday, August 22nd to get a handle on the color work technique. Sign up here!

This will be another hybrid KAL, with weekly meetings on Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 7ish. We will be hosting both in-person and Zoom meetings, based on our participant input (we will create a schedule in our exclusive Facebook group once the KAL begins). Our first gathering will be in person on Thursday, August 29th, where we'll be making our project and yarn selections (this meeting is optional... you don't have to wait if you want to pick out your yarns ASAP or if you can't make it at that time). We will cast on and get started with our projects in person on September 5th.
The cost for this KAL is FREE, but I do ask that you purchase your supplies for the project from Yarn Garden. By supporting YG with your yarn purchase, you’re helping ensure that we can stay open to continue offering these fabulous events. Once you've made your purchase, you'll be given access to our private Facebook group, where the KAL will take place.
Yarn Options
Yarn options will depend on which project you choose from the Pressed Flowers family. The yarns range from heavy fingering/sport weight, up to dk or worsted weight. You can choose to have two solid colors or go for a combo of a solid + a self-striping/variegated... there are a lot of options! I recommend looking through some of the projects on Ravelry to see what different combos look like. It's a great resource!
If you have any questions, please get in touch via email (yarngardenMI@gmail.com), shop phone (517-541-9323) or YG's Facebook Page!
| Skill Level: | Intermediate |
| Skill Details: | I'm calling it intermediate simply because we are not teaching the skills involved with the making of the fabric. The knitter should have some experience with using the mosaic knitting method. If you'd like to learn the technique, check out the Master Mosaics class! |
