Do you find it hard to keep track of your place in the row by row patterns, with repeats, and lots of commas? Learning to read a chart is valuable for all level of knitters. The majority of patterns for lace, colorwork, and cabled projects include a chart or two, so chart reading is a valuable skill for all knitters.
A chart is a visual, concise way for a designer to write a pattern, and a visual representation of the final knitted project. In this class you will learn to identify at a glance if the pattern is knit flat, or in the round; how to look for edge stitches, what different stitches look like, and how to mark your charts for successful knitting.
Requirements:
Students should bring paper, pen, and colored pencils (if they have them; the instructor will provide some as needed).
