CTA1: Color Theory Adventure!
Join Lindsay and Karen for an all day adventure exploring the world of color!
We'll start our day by learning all about color with Karen. After the lecture, we'll put your newfound skills to use by shopping and picking three colors of yarn to make the KOKO scarf/wrap. After a lunch break (during which we will make sure your yarn is wound and ready for you!), you'll cast on with Lindsay and learn the stitches necessary to make the unique fabric of this cool piece. Color Theory Class with Karen
10:00a to 11:30a
Beginner level class for those with an interest in developing color knowledge and skills to enhance their crafting tool kit. Perfect for knitters, crocheters, quilters, and crafters. Learn a little history, delve more into primary, secondary, tertiary colors. Study hue, saturation, values to effectively select and apply color to enhance designs. Expand color awareness beyond preconceptions and learn to push your comfort zone in working with color.
Put your new skills to the test and pick out three colors of fingering weight yarn for your KOKO!

Lunch
There are plenty of lunch options within walking distance of YG. You are welcome to bring a lunch as well, there is a refrigerator in the 131 Event Space.
Cast on the KOKO with Lindsay
1:30p to 3:30p
Together we will cast on and learn the stitches necessary to create the sculptural fabric of KOKO (by Olga Buraya - Kefelian). We will discuss the crochet provisional cast on, slipping stitches, i-cord edges, and using a chart vs. words.
